A SCARCE EARLY VICTORIAN BRITISH NAVAL OFFICER'S 1827 PATTERN SWORD WITH PIPE-BACK BLADE, UNSIGNED,
pre 1846, with broad slightly curving quill-tipped 30in. blade remaining in good polish, gilded solid brass-hilt with carved gothic panels and a raised Queen's crown and fouled anchor device all on a stippled ground, carved and moulded lionshead pommel, wire-bound white fishskin grip and folding inner guard locking the sword in its matching black leather scabbard with gilded brass drag, throat and central mount, the whole retaining the majority of its original finish, together with its bullion sword-knot (worn)
