A RARE .22 UNDER-LEVER AIR-RIFLE, MODEL '58 (THIRD VARIANT)', no visible serial number,
for between 1936-1940, with tapering 19 1/2in. barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, elevating notch rear-sight, tap loading breech, plain air-chamber without facility to mount a telescopic sight and marked 'DIANA MOD 58' over MADE IN GERMANY', the whole beneath the standing figure of Diana trademark, walnut half-stock with chequered semi pistol-grip and grooved fore-end and push-button underlever, finish worn

Provenance: One of the most collectible Diana air-rifles and the pre-war flagship model. Plans for this air-rifle were confiscated from the Nazis at the end of World War Two and given to Webley & Scott who went on to base their famous MK3 under-lever air-rifle on it.
