MANUFACTURE FRANCAISE
AN 8mm (PALM) REPEATING PALM-PISTOL, MODEL 'GAULOIS No.3 DELUXE', serial no. T16962,
circa 1895, with round 2 1/4in. scroll-engraved barrel, flat sighting rib signed 'GAULOIS' in gilt together with the Manufrance trademark, nickel bead fore-sight, squared roll-engraved receiver signed on the top 'MANUFACTURE FRANCAISE SAINT ETIENNE ARMES ET CYCLES' within a circle (traces of gilt), sliding dust cover with thumb-grips, detachable sideplate on the right hand side, the left side drilled with cartridge viewing holes and fitted with a three-position selector, the positions marked in gilt, sliding double-action only cocking and firing action to the rear fitted with a smooth ivory grip-piece, slight traces of original colour and finish throughout
