circa 1862, with octagonal 4in. barrel signed on the left hand side flat and with patents to 1858, dove-tailed nickel fore-sight, shallow sighting groove to the top-strap, plain cylinder with front locking notches, humped solid iron frame with exposed slab-sided side-hammer, spur trigger and smooth flared walnut grips, the heel strap with traces of a previous owners name, possibly 'JAMES MULLIGAN'
