circa 1881 and of the so called 'Sharp-Shooter' variety with round 33 1/4in. barrel, octagonal breech, block and blade fore-sight, elevating tangent rear-sight, brushed bright slab-sided receiver with rounded bolt-housing, loading aperture on right hand side, turned down bolt handle, walnut butt-stock with iron heel-plate, 'sharp-shooter' double set triggers, spurred trigger-guard bow, walnut fore-end with square-cut chequering behind first barrel-band and complete with swivels and its iron clearing rod
