A .450 (1 1/2IN. CARBINE) SINGLE-SHOT FALLING-BLOCK RIFLE, MODEL 'DEELEY-EDGE', serial no. 212,
circa 1881, with 25in. barrel marked 'WHITWORTH PATENT', provision for a dovetailed fore-sight blade (absent), small elevating ladder rear-sight, the action marked 'DEELEY-EDGE PATENT' together with a cocking lever on the right side and signed 'MANUFACTURED BY WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. LIMITED BIRMINGHAM' on the left side, walnut full-stock (missing clearing rod), iron furniture and slight traces of finish throughout.
