A 12mm PINFIRE REVOLVING SPORTING-RIFLE, serial no. 942,
circa 1860, with 25 1/2in. octagonal barrel (cleaned, some pitting), the left hand side of barrel at breech marked 'C. LEFAUCHEUX A BREVETE', dove-tailed fore-sight and bayonet bar at muzzle, standing notch rear-sight, florally engraved open iron frame with full pin shield, plain ratchet indexing cylinder, double action mechanism with spurred hammer and guarded trigger with spur, walnut straight hand stock (chequering worn smooth), iron heel-plate and plunge ejector, the whole stripped of finish with some shallow pitting
