A SCARCE 12-BORE PINFIRE DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, MODEL 'PATENT WEDGE-BOLT', serial no. 711,
circa 1865 and built to the Harlow brothers's patent 2380 of 1863, with browned damascus 29 3/4in. barrels numbered for '1' of a pair and signed on top-rib 'J.T. HARLOW MAKERS: BIRMINGHAM' (possibly refreshed), engraved band at breech with scroll engraved detail around rib-end and pin apertures, scroll engraved swamped top-tang also numbered '1' for a pair, border and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'HARLOW, MAKER', scroll engraved hammers and breech supports, chequered walnut butt-stock (crack at wrist) with engraved iron furniture, chequered bar-in-wood fore-end with finger cut-out to operate the concealed opening lever flush inlet into the underside, cross-bolt fastening and horn tip
