circa 1865, with browned damascus 29 3/4in. barrels, the top-rib signed 'D. EGG No4 PALL MALL S.W. LONDON', starbursts engraved around the pin sockets, border and scroll engraved action body with central depictions of a hunting dog on the right and bolting rabbit on the left and a slim side-lever, border and scroll engraved top-tang and back-action external hammer locks (traces of colour), the locks further signed 'D. EGG', chequered walnut straight hand stock, iron heel-plate, chequered walnut splinter fore-end with cross-key fixing, traces of finish
