circa 1900, with round 25 1/4in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves, the top of barrel at breech signed 'W.R. PAPE, NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE', scroll engraved slab-sided receiver signed 'W.R. PAPE' on both sides within a central banner, polished feed-ramp, the rear of action drilled for a tang-sight (absent), walnut butt-stock further reduced at wrist for the same sight, blued iron furniture, walnut fore-end, two iron sling eyes and traces only of original finish, woodwork re-finished
