A 32-BORE PERCUSSION BELT-PISTOL FOR HIGHLAND DRESS, no visible serial number,
circa 1880, with triple-staged 6in. barrel engraved with scrolls and foliage, the top at breech signed 'LIVERPOOL', borderline and scroll engraved lock signed 'KIND', engraved slab-sided hammer, distinctive Scottish style all steel stock with slab-sided butt engraved with stylised thistles, 'ramshorn' heel with ball-headed pricker stored between the horns, the fore-end engraved with foliage, unguarded ball trigger, belt hook on the left hand side and under-barrel iron ramrod

Other Notes: This pistol and the following lot are typical late Victorian pistols manufactured for the sole purpose of wearing with Highland Dress. The similarity of form would mean that the two lots could be combined to form quite an acceptable composed pair
