AN INTERESTING CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION REVOLVER, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'ADAMS' TYPE', serial no. 1227,
possibly cut-down from a Model 1851, with re-blued octagonal 3 7/8in. barrel, no provision for rammer, brushed bright five-shot plain cylinder, solid frame, self-cocking trigger mechanism with spur-less hammer, probable replacement smooth walnut grip with flanged heel and iron trap for caps in the pommel, together with a brass cornered period mahogany case lined and compartmented in blue velvet for this revolver and including a nipple-key and pricker combination tool, a small powder flask, a double cavity brass mould signed 'TOLLEY'S', a square oil bottle and mahogany loading rod, the case lid escutcheon initialled 'J.W.B.' in script
