A 54-BORE DOUBLE-ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAM'S PATENT', serial no. 37206,
circa 1858, with blued octagonal 5 3/4in. barrel, the right hand flat engraved 'R.W.P. R.E.', blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, the top-strap signed 'ROBERT ADAMS 76 KING WILLIAM STREET LONDON', solid borderline engraved frame marked 'ADAM'S PATENT 37,206' and '21.405', sliding safe to the right hand side behind the plain five-shot cylinder, spurred hammer and guarded trigger, chequered walnut semi saw-handled walnut grip with domed iron pommel-cap and articulated rammer to left side of barrel, the whole retaining strong amounts of original blued finish
