for 1862, with re-browned octagonal damascus 30in. barrel, the top-flat with traces only of signature, dove-tailed adjustable tunnel fore-sight, Henry patent adjustable ladder rear-sight, reblued engraved breech-block featuring a stags head to the top panel (some minor loss to detail), replacement plug, engraved top-tang, the tip adapted for a sight (absent) border and scroll engraved bar-action lock with a further engraving of a tiger on the bar and signed in script below the hammer 'ALEX'R HENRY', sliding safe behind the scroll engraved dolphin headed 'C' shaped hammer, chequered pistol-grip half-stock with scroll engraved patch-box hinge, the circular lid engraved with an elephant, iron heel-plate (pitted), silver oval escutcheon to underside of stock, plain trigger-blade, horn fore-end tip, under-barrel brass-mounted ebony ramrod and eyelets for a sling

Other Notes: Donald Dallas lists this rifle in his excellent book 'Alexander Henry, Rifle Maker' as a best single barrelled rifle in .451 with 1860 patent use number '323'
