A GOOD 36-BORE FLINTLOCK DUELLING-PISTOL, serial no. 5177,
for 1809, with browned twist, scratch rifled octagonal 10in. barrel signed in gilt on the top-flat 'MANTON LONDON', bead fore-sight, drift adjustable standing notch rear-sight, gilt line at breech and platinum lined touch-hole, border engraved lock signed 'MANTON' below the platinum lined rainproof pan, roller frizzen, bolted cock, walnut half-stock with chequered bag shaped butt, spurred trigger-guard and horn-tipped mahogany ramrod

Other Notes: This pistol (almost certainly one of a pair) is not listed in either of Neal & Back' s volumes on the Mantons, but gun no. 5176 is listed and of identical specification
