A GOOD 14-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS-BARRELLED SILVER MOUNTED HOLSTER-PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1750, with triple-staged slightly swamped 8 1/4in. brass barrel, the octagonal breech changing to sixteen sided and with engraved borders to the flats, moulded and carved bands to the intersections, the top-flat signed 'LONDON' forwards of a flourish of scrolls, private proofs, flat stepped tail brass lock engraved with borders, scrolls and floral detail and signed 'T. ARCHER' in an engraved banner below the pan, walnut full-stock with unmarked silver furniture including short-tailed border engraved butt-cap, trigger guard bow and tang with acorn finial, moulded and engraved side-plate and two ramrod pipes, together with the majority of its brass tipped ramrod (broken short in antiquity)
