Product Details

A RARE .665 FLINTLOCK MUSKET, UNSIGNED, MODEL '1756 ROYAL ARTILLERY CARBINE', no visible serial number,
First Pattern circa 1765 and probably manufactured in the Tower Armouries, London, with 37in. round iron barrel with 'King's' proof and makers mark for Richard Edge, block fore-sight, moulded band at breech, solid top-tang, rounded borderline engraved lock (signature and crown device erased), walnut handrail three-quarter stock, brass furniture and replacement wood ramrod

Other Notes: Whilst the differences between the 1756 and the later 1776 Pattern carbines are only subtle, the easiest way of recognition is by the presence of only three ramrod pipes on the 1756 as opposed to the four of the later model
