circa 1788, with straight broad fullered 28 1/2in. blade engraved with floral and other motifs (darkly stained with some pitting, traces of gilt to engraving), gilt brass 'P' shaped knuckle-bow and cross-guard, shield shaped langets engraved with fouled anchors, moulded wire-bound ivory grip and lionshead pommel and back-strap, some deformation to guard, no scabbard
