A GEORGIAN NAVAL OFFICER'S SABRE WITH IVORY HILT,
probably English circa 1795, with heavily curved plain 28in. blade false edged for the last 7 1/2in. (darkly stained), gilded brass cross-guard with rolled down quillion and two broad langets, both pierced and engraved with fouled anchors surrounded by laurel wreaths, 'P' shaped knucklebow with aperture for a bullion knot, moulded ivory grip-piece with alternating panels of chequering and bands (some shrinkage) and an eagle head brass pommel and backstrap, missing scabbard
