circa 1884, 28in. sleeved nitro barrels, broad rib engraved in gothic script 'JNO. RIGBY & CO. 72, ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON AND DUBLIN', (refreshed), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/4 choke, action incorporating J. Rigby and T. Bissell patent rising third bite, patent no. 1141 of 1879, use number 252, push-forward underlever, removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, dipped-edge lockplates, carved leaf fences, profusely engraved with best border and bold scroll engraving (some wear and patination),15 1/4in. replacement stock, fore-end with Rigby patent screw-grip fore-end fastener, weight 6lb. 14oz.
