A TRIO OF 12-BORE DOUBLE-TRIGGER OVER AND UNDER SIDELOCK EJECTORS, serial no. 28204 / 5 / 6, No.3 with two sets of barrels,
circa 1978, 26 1/2in. ribless nitro chopperlump barrels, the top tubes engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND. SPECIALLY MADE FOR ROBERT J. NICKERSON', matt sighting flats gold-inlaid '1', '2', '3' and '3' respectively, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in both (No.1) 1/4 and 3/4 choke (No.2), full choke in both (No.3 - ribless) and imp. cyl. in both (No.3 extra barrels), hold-open toplevers gold-inlaid '1', '2' and '3', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, cocking-indicators, articulated front triggers, rolled-edge triggerguards, acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, the undersides engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. LONDON.', 14 1/4in. figured stocks swept towards central vision, with engraved steel heel and toe plates, the stocks with gold-inlet lettering 'RJN', some splits to fore-end woodwork No.1 and No.3, slight setting cracks to rear of safeties (No.1, 2 and 3), weight 7lb. 3oz. (No.1 & 2) 7lb. 2oz. (No.3 & No.3 with extra barrels), in a pair of their makers leather double motorcases.
