for 1916, with 4 3/8in. barrel, blued sighted slide signed 'COLTS PT FA MFG CO HARTFORD CT USA' and 'PATENTED APR 20 1897, SEPT 9 1902', on the left, the right hand side stamped with the calibre designation, blued frame, chequered hard-rubber grips with the 'Colt' trademarks and lanyard ring to base, much original finish remaining
