circa 1881, 35 3/4in. black powder only bold damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'W. & C. SCOTT & SON. MAKERS & PATENTEES. LONDON.', treble-grip action incorporating Scott patent toplever, patent no. 2752 of 25th October 1865, the toplever engraved 'W. & C. SCOTT & SON PATENT' in a scrolling banner, carved percussion fences, rebounding sidelocks, border and acanthus scroll engraving, the action flats with patent details, the Scott tower and 'W. & C. SCOTT & SON. MAKERS. PATENT ACTION.', retaining traces of original colour-hardening, 14in. well-figured semi-pistolgrip stock including steel buttplate, the triggerguard tang serial numbered and marked with the Scott tower, fore-end with Scott patent lever release, patent no. 615 of 15th February 1876, weight 12lbs. 9oz.
