A .750 FLINTLOCK MUSKET, MODEL 'INDIA PATTERN BROWN BESS', rack no. 47, WITH BAYONET,
circa 1810, with browned 39in. barrel, London proofs, moulded band forwards of top tang, flaring top-tang, military type lock signed 'REED' below pan (refreshed) and engraved with borderlines (traces of an ordnance mark), walnut hand-rail full-stock with brass furniture, the top-spur of heel-plate engraved '47', trumpet mouth ramrod pipes and iron under-barrel ramrod, complete with an iron socket bayonet signed 'MAKIN', the socket marked 'C3' over '45', (some staining and frosting) and fitted with a reproduction buff leather sling, overall length without bayonet 55in., weight approximately 9 3/4lbs.
