A RARE PATTERN 1895 TYPE CITY OF LONDON YEOMANRY SWORD, serial no. 62/149,
circa 1902, with 34 1/2in. plain broad blind-fullered blade marked 'HAMBURGER ROGERS & Co. LONDON' on the ricasso, tropical hard-wood grip, solid sheet iron half-basket guard marked internally 'CL 62', iron scabbard marked '2 CLY 149' with two solid suspension rings and retaining a fair amount of period khaki paint, 41 1/2in. overall, weight approx. 3lbs.

Other Notes: This unique pattern of sword was specially commissioned by the City of London Yeomanry and not issued to any other unit. Only 700 swords were contracted for, all supplied by Hamburger Rogers & Co., London.
