A RARE BOXED .177 BARREL-COCKING AIR-PISTOL, MODEL 'MKI ', serial no. 16679,
circa 1929, with 7 1/8in. rifled barrel, blued stepped air-chamber, the right hand side marked 'WEBLEY AIR PISTOL MKI', 'MADE IN ENGLAND' over 'A.F. STOEGER INC' together with 'NEW YORK', 'SOLE U.S. AGENTS' and 'USA PATD JULY 7 1925', the left side with 'BRITISH PATENT 219872' and 'WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD. BIRMINGHAM & LONDON', five pin trigger group including trigger weight adjuster, rotating safe and smooth straight walnut grips with the Webley 'winged bullet' trademark medallion inlet into the left hand example, the whole retaining much original finish, 9 1/4in. overall and complete with its maker's card carton (wear to edges) retaining loose instruction leaflets, a spare breech-washer in its paper envelope and a rectangular dark blue card box of sample pellets marked for 'THE NEW WEBLEY AIR PISTOL MKI' (stained, only partial contents), weight of pistol approx. 2lbs.
