A COMPOSED PAIR OF 12-BORE 'GRADE FH 45' FACILE PRINCEPS HAMMERLESS EJECTORS, serial no. 53339 / 54936,
30in. Greener trademark steel nitro barrels (No.1 with repaired dent, No.2 nitro reproved), the ribs engraved 'W.W. GREENER. MAKER. 68. HAYMARKET. LONDON. WORKS ST. MARY'S SQUARE. BIRMINGHAM.. H. LEUE. BERLIN.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, scroll-backed treble-grip actions with carved serpentine fences, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2' and also gold-inlaid with the initial 'E' surmounted by a Grafenkrone, automatic side safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed finish, 14 3/4in. figured stocks with inlaid horn drop-points, including 3/4in. wooden extensions, weight 6lb. 9oz. (No.1) 6lb. 8oz.(No.2)

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed the following information:

W W Greener gun no. 53339 was started on 8th July 1904 and finished 28th November 1907. It is a Facile Princeps FH45 ejector shotgun, a 12 bore with 30 inch Wrought steel barrels. Stock dimensions when made were 2-3/16 by 1-1/2 by 14-3/8 inches. It was engraved by Horrocks. This gun was shipped to Berlin.

W W Greener gun no. 54936 was started on 3rd April 1906 and finished on 29th November 1907. To pair with 53339 it was made to the same specifications apart from the barrels which are of Sandvik steel, and also engraved by Horrocks. Shipped to Berlin on completion.
