A GOOD 80-BORE PERCUSSION TURN-OVER POCKET-PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1835, with turn-off 1 1/2in. barrels, engraved band and false rifling at the muzzle, acanthus scroll engraved bordered breech block with carved false side-ribs, fully bordered and scroll engraved slab-sided action signed in a banner on the left 'WM. & JN' RIGBY' and on the right 'DUBLIN', engraved central dolphin-headed hammer, integral iron nipple-guard to the underside and concealed folding trigger, finely chequered walnut butt of Irish birdshead form with silver oval escutcheons to both the pommel and the wrist, traces of colour
