circa 1910 and possibly converted from the service rifle, with tapering octagonal 27 1/2in. blued barrel, the matted top-flat with dove-tailed fore-sight, the standing notch rear-sight dove-tailed into a broad carved dove-tail for a further sliding rear-sight (absent), rounded borderline and scroll engraved colour-hardened receiver, butterknife bolt-handle, flag safe, a pan-head aperture sight mounted to the top-tang, walnut half-stock with chequered and capped pistol-grip and raised tear-drop cheek-piece, iron furniture including spurred trigger guard bow (internal aperture for magazine blanked off) and double set triggers, much finish remaining
