A 18-BORE DOUBLE-BARRELLED FLINTLOCK SPORTING GUN SIGNED NOCK, CIRCA 1810, no visible serial number,
with 31 1/2in. rebrowned skelp twist barrels, concave top rib inscribed 'LONDON', the breech with two inlaid gold lines and marked Nock on both barrels, platinum lined touch holes, fixed breech with quality feathered and foliate engraving, bevelled locks with engraved leaf decoration to borders, stepped tails with sunburst, signed 'NOCK' to centre, French style cocks, vee shaped waterproof pans and rollers to frizzen springs, iron mounted figured walnut half-stock (old repair to toe of butt) with finely chequered wrist, the mounts include a long tanged butt-cap, scroll trigger-guard the bow engraved with game birds in a country setting, leafed pineapple finial, the tail pipe also with leafed pineapple decoration
