Provenance: Anyone who has had an interest in air rifles in the last 30 years will need no introduction to Terry Doe. Taking the U.S Open Field Target Championship in 1989 and the European Championship in 1994, both with this rifle, Terry was to win over 200 events in his field target career, eventually retiring from the circuit in 1995.
The rifle, affectionately known as 'Jon-Jon' after the maker John Ford of Sportsmatch and the stock maker John Welham, was given to Terry by John Ford of Sportsmatch with instructions to 'go win the U.S. Open because we need the business!' Terry was completely thrown in at the deep end at his first major abroad, so did what any self respecting Englishman would do and challenged the Americans to a drinking contest the night before the competition! The rest, as they say, is history, with one contender for the title being found comatose on the range the next morning...
Terry later became editor of both Airgun World and Airgunner magazine and also became something of an internet star producing many sporting videos and reviews for social media channels
