almost certainly a date code for 1936, with expertly reblued stepped round 19 1/8in. barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, buckhorn rear-sight, calibre markings to top of barrel and 'MADE IN GERMANY' to the underside, plain reblued air-chamber marked 'HAENAL MODEL VIII', squared trigger unit with Haenal arrow trademark, plain walnut half pistol-grip butt-stock, iron heel-plate and no provision for fore-end, well restored throughout
