for 1924, 30in. nitro barrels, the rib engraved 'WILLIAM EVANS, 63, PALL MALL. ST. JAMES'S. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, treble-grip action with removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and renewed finish, 14 7/8in. replacement stock, weight 6lb. 5oz., in its brass-cornered oak and leather case

Provenance: The vendor has kindly supplied photocopies of the original entries in the maker's records confirming that the gun was completed on the 3rd October 1924 for an H.G. Rose of Ingleside, Stevenage. The records also show that the case (for an Evans gun already owned by Mr Rose) was refitted, cleaned and waxed by them to house his new purchase
