for 1918, 28in. sleeved nitro barrels (in 1977 and 1975 respectively), gun No.1 rib gold-inlaid '1' at the breech end, gun No.2 rib engraved 'WILLIAM EVANS. 63 PALL MALL. ST. JAMES'S. LONDON' and gold-inlaid '2' at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke (No.1) and true cyl. and 1/4 choke (No.2), treble-grip actions with removable striker discs, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, intercepting sears, bold acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 15in. stocks with engraved steel heel and toe plates (No.2 plug at head and insert repair to toe, minor losses to edges of fore-end wood), in their brass-cornered leather case
