A BRITISH MIDSHIPMAN'S PATTERN 1887 NAVAL DIRK, SIGNATURE OBSCURED, no visible serial number,
circa World War One, with straight spearpoint 18in. blade etched with arabesques and scrolls around a King's crown and anchor device on the right face and similar but with the 'G.v.R.' Royal cypher on the left (some staining to both sides), maker's name obscured but addressed at 'CARNABY ST, REGENT ST LONDON S.W.' at forte, brass 'S' shaped cross-guard with acorn finials, white sharkskin grip with wire binding and brass back-strap with integral lionshead pommel, complete with its brass mounted leather scabbard with integral locking catch, the throat initialled 'A.B.G.T.' the drag a working replacement
