circa 1840, with octagonal twist iron 30 1/2in. micro-rifled barrel, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, squared action (traces of engraving) with tap-action loading and external 'hammer', butt reservoir-stock re-covered and painted gloss black, smooth walnut splinter fore-end, replacement brass under-barrel ramrod, the whole heavily cleaned with deep pitting and loss to detail, untested, together with an associated period pump (possibly the original) with turned ebony handles, missing foot-plate
