likely conversion from pinfire, 29 3/4in. black powder reproved bold damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'BOSS & CO. 73 ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, some pitting, slender serpentine fences of pinfire form, Jones patent rotary-underlever, rebounding back-action locks, action knuckle with dovetailed extractor lifter and built up fore-end stops, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14 1/4in. figured stock including buttplate, weight 6lb. 7oz.

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed in 1867 for a Captain F. Travers (or possibly Traders) and that it was a 12-bore with 30in. barrels. Unfortunately the original order page with complete details of the specification was not able to be located
