He has been hailed as 'arguably the best player ever to don a Welsh jersey' - an accolade cemented by the Welsh Rugby Former International Player's Association and First Press Events company in 2001 when he was voted as being 'the Greatest Welsh Player of all time'

He was ranked as the greatest player of all time in Will Carling's 2007 list of the '50 Greatest Rugby Players' that was published in the Daily Telegraph and a poll conducted by 'Rugby World' magazine in 2003 reached the same conclusion.

Other Notes: This gun is accompanied by a photograph of Sir Gareth Edwards with the gun. The rear of the photograph has a personal note from Sir Gareth reading:

"William Powell No. 10398
I bought this gun when I retired from playing rugby in 1978. It was all I could afford at the time! The game was still amateur in those days!
I shot my first duck and snipe with it in the Towy Valley in Carmarthen, West Wales.
I've had a lot of fun using it and hope you do the same
Best Wishes
Gareth Edwards
