26in. nitro reproved round barrel with file cut top flat with a banner engraved 'CHARLES LANCASTER . 151. NEW BOND ST. LONDON.', (smoothbored to .410 from .300 oval bore rook), open sights and original fore-sight removed and dovetailed in, bead fore-sight, the breech end detailing the original calibre and 'NON FOULING SMOOTH OVAL BORE RIFLING' (possibly refreshed), carved fence, non-selective ejector, automatic safety, beaded border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/4in. figured semi-pistolgrip stock, fore-end with Hackett snap release and horn finial, weight 5lb. 1oz.
