No.1 gun 28in. nitro reproved barrels, the rib gold-inlaid '1' at the breech end, the tubes engraved 'W.P. JONES. MAKER. 25 WHITTALL ST. BIRMINGHAM. WINNER AT THE FIELD TRIALS OF 12, 16 & 20 BORE GUNS LONDON', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, some pits, wall thicknesses below recommended minimum, No.2 gun with 27 1/2in. unsigned replacement nitro barrels (in 1970, loose on action), the rib gold-inlaid '2' at the breech end and with acanthus scroll detailing to the tubes at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, treble-grip actions with hidden third bites and side clips, toplevers gold-inlaid 'W.P. JONES' and '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, the lockplates with game scene vignettes, brushed and reblued finishes overall, 14 1/4in. well-figured stocks (slight sweep at combs) including 1/2in. buttplates, No.2 fore-end wood with minor losses to right edge, weight 5lb. 13oz.
