27in. nitro reproved barrel (converted from .303 to 7x57R, London reproofed in 1990) with raised matt rib, the sides engraved 'MANTON & CO. GUN MAKERS TO H.R.H. THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH K.G. LONDON & CALCUTTA', ramped bead fore-sight, the breech end mounted with a K. Kahles Helia-Super telescopic sight, serial no. 260854, in quickly-detachable mounts, carved arcaded percussion fence, rounded action bar, rebounding sidelock, border engraving, retaining very slight traces of finish, 14 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with steel pistolgrip-cap and buttplate, sling eyes, later fitted engraved ammunition trap, fore-end with minor insert repair, grip-catch release lever and horn finial, weight 7lb. 12oz. (unscoped) and 8lb. 15oz. (with scope)
