A SCARCE .44 (M&H) SIX-SHOT SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER MODEL 'ARMY, FIRST ISSUE', serial no. 11339,
circa 1877, with 7 1/2in. sighted twist and pull barrel (side signature, possibly of 'Hopkins & Allen' erased, bruising around release catch), blind-fluted cylinder, plain frame with barrel slide release catch forwards of the trigger-guard and no top-strap, working replacement stained and degraded ivory grips, provision for lanyard ring to base of butt, the whole retaining slight traces of its original nickel-plated finish
