circa 1925, with 29 1/4in. blued octagonal barrel with later ramp-mounted tunnel fore-sight, integral rail to the top flat and signed 'V. CHR. SCHILLING - SUHL' toward the breech in silver-gilt, hand-detachable hinge pin, double set triggers, detachable triggerplate assembly, tang-mounted pillar sight from another numbered 13856, scrolled underlever triggerguard with finger spur, the action carved in relief with floral scroll set against a matt background surrounding vignettes of characters from folklore, possibly William Tell and a patron saint of shooting, brushed finish, walnut butt-stock chequered at the wrist (pinned at head), raised moulded cheek-piece, Swiss-style iron heel-plate, sling swivels and smooth walnut schnabel fore-end
