for 1857, with 30in. damascus barrels, the top-rib signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS, 170 NEW BOND ST. LONDON' (rubbed), bead fore-sight, border engraved breech-ends, the rib-end engraved with scrolls and inlet with a platinum line, platinum vented plugs, borderline and scroll engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'WESLEY RICHARDS', slab-sided, scroll engraved, dolphin headed hammers, chequered walnut half-stock, iron furniture, the front of the trigger guard apparently factory fitted with a chequered horn grip-piece to allow a continental reverse hold and complete with a brass mounted ebony ramrod
Provenance: A file of correspondence from the manufacturer accompanies this lot stating the gun was made for a Reverend H.F. Radford in 1857
