A PAIR OF 18-BORE FLINTLOCK SILVER-MOUNTED PISTOLS, MODEL 'QUEEN ANNE', no visible serial numbers,
circa 1775, with multi-staged tapering round 5 1/4in. iron barrels (frozen), moulded bands at the intersections and muzzles, the rear of breech with London proofs and an engraved band of arabesques, applied screw-down top-tangs, the underside of breech signed 'ROBT. HARUEY' (sic), border and shell engraved locks, recumbent 'L' shaped frizzen-springs, borderline engraved top-jaws and frizzen fronts, the latter with central tear-drop motifs, bulbous walnut butts (one pistol with wood loss below lock and cracks), silver grotesque mask butt-caps, silver wire scroll inlays to both butts, silver pierced acanthus scroll side-plates and escutcheons to both wrists, guarded triggers
