A .690 FLINTLOCK CARBINE OF MILITARY STYLE, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
German circa 1730 and probably cut back from a longer musket, with octagonal to round 32in. brushed bright barrel (crack at muzzle), Suhl control marks to underside of breech, curved and radiused plain lock engraved with the letter 'B' for the Dukes of Bavaria, walnut full-stock carved around the ramrod channel and lock and a carved apron around the top-tang, iron furniture including an escutcheon at wrist and a running vine sideplate, oversized heel-plate, the right hand side of butt carved with the letters 'C.T' separated by co-joined reversed letter 'C's, replacement ramrod
