A RARE 16-BORE FLINTLOCK TURN-OVER COACHING CARBINE, no visible serial number,
circa 1725, with round iron triple-staged barrel signed at breech 'IOHN HARMAN LONDINI', moulded bands to each intersection and at breech, applied moulded figure '8' barrel band at muzzle with two small fore-sights, matching engraved bands to both halves of the swivel-joint, the turnover released by squeezing the trigger guard bow at front pillar, slightly curved and radiused back-action lock with moulded border and signed 'IOHN HARMAN', the front half of lock with pan and frizzen mounted to the side of barrel with a second inverted on the opposite side, walnut handrail butt-stock with carved apron around the top-tang with tear-drop finial, iron furniture (some pitting) including moulded heel-plate with full-length top-spur and pierced side-plate, further tear-drops carved behind the lower tang, lock and sideplate, carved wood fillets to both sides of the barrels, one retaining a ramrod the other with false ramrod channel, both with carved tear-drop terminals
