circa 1820, with browned damascus octagonal 29in. barrel signed in gilt on the top-flat 'D. EGG, LONDON', applied blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves on shaped foot, colour hardened breech-block with twin gold lines, gold lined touch-hole and pan, small border engraved colour hardened lock signed 'D. EGG', sliding safe behind the cock, rain-proof pan, border engraved roller frizzen marked on the outer face 'D. Egg PATENT', walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, small oval gold escutcheon behind the trophy engraved top-tang, blued iron furniture including lower tang with hand-stop, single set trigger, pillar and shell trigger guard bow, white-metal engraved and moulded fore-tip with integral ramrod throat and mahogany ramrod with engraved brass worm-cover and iron tip, the whole retaining much apparently original finish and complete with its W. Keith Neal collection medallion numbered 'G273'
