A FINE 20-BORE SPORTING-GUN WITH SMITH PATENT LOCKS, serial no. 2612,

circa 1825, with re-browned fine damascus octagonal to sixteen sided to round 32 1/2in. barrel banded at the intersection, bead fore-sight, the top-flat signed 'W. SMITH PRINCES STREET LONDON', squared breech with four platinum bands, flat slightly curved border and scroll engraved lock, the scrolls inhabited by mythical beasts and further marked 'PATENT 2048' and signed 'WILLIAM SMITH PRINCES STR.T LONDON', engraved slab-sided cock with fully engraved top-jaw, special patent recumbent pan, re-faced steel and roller spring, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, engraved brushed bright iron furniture, white metal fore-end cap and mahogany under-barrel ramrod, complete with its W. Keith Neal collection medallion numbered 'G153'
