AN EXQUISITE .410 FLINTLOCK SINGLE-BARRELLED BIRDING GUN, no visible serial number,

circa 1805, with browned two-stage 31 1/2in. barrel finely moulded and carved at the intersection, the top-flat signed in gilt 'D. EGG, LONDON', bead fore-sight, gold bands at breech, engraved top-tang with shallow sighting groove, flat, slightly curved bevel edged lock of small size with borderline engraving and flowers and trophies engraved to the tail, signed below the pan in script 'D. EGG', sliding safe behind the cock, expert replacement frizzen (original included but thin), walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, small gold oval escutcheon engraved with an armorial behind top-tang, engraved iron furniture including heel-plate and French form trigger-guard bow, twin barrel keys, moulded iron ramrod cap and throat combined and original ebony ramrod, complete with its W. Keith Neal collection medallion numbered 'G226'
